‍ ‍

This Privacy Policy explains how Ilaria Galetta, trading as Lazy Pixel Design ("I", "me", "my"), collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you visit this website (the "Site") or submit information through it.

I am committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Where I work with clients based outside the UK, I also aim to handle data in line with the EU GDPR and other applicable data protection laws.

‍ ‍

1. Who I Am (Data Controller)

Data Controller: Ilaria Galetta, trading as Lazy Pixel Design
Location: United Kingdom
Contact email: hello@lazypixeldesign.com

I am a freelance web designer working with clients worldwide, primarily building websites using Squarespace.

‍ ‍

2. What Personal Data I Collect‍ ‍

This Site uses a contact form, which is currently the only way I collect personal data directly from visitors. When you submit the form, I collect:

  • First name and surname

  • Email address

  • Any message or details you choose to include in the message fiel ‍

I do not operate a newsletter or mailing list, and I do not process any payments through this Site.
No financial or card information is collected or stored by me via the Site.

Automatically Collected Data‍ ‍

Like most websites, this Site is hosted on Squarespace, which may automatically collect limited technical data (such as IP address, browser type, and general usage analytics via cookies) to help the Site function and to provide aggregate usage statistics. Please see Section 8 below regarding Squarespace's role and cookie usage.

‍ ‍

3. How I Use Your Personal Data

I use the information collected through the contact form only to:

  • Respond to your enquiry or message

  • Discuss potential or ongoing web design projects

  • Keep a record of correspondence for professional and contractual purpose

I do not use your contact form data for marketing, newsletters, or automated decision-making, and I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties.

‍ ‍

4. Legal Basis for Processing‍ ‍

Under UK GDPR, I rely on the following legal bases:‍ ‍

  • Legitimate interests – to respond to enquiries and communicate about potential services, where this does not override your rights and interests.

  • Contract – where our correspondence leads to a contract for design services, processing your data is necessary to perform that contract.

  • Consent – by voluntarily submitting the contact form, you consent to me processing the data provided for the purpose of responding to you.

‍ ‍

5. How Long I Keep Your Data

I retain contact form submissions only for as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry and, where a business relationship develops, for the duration of that relationship plus a reasonable period afterwards for accounting, legal, or record-keeping purposes (typically up to 6 years, in line with UK legal requirements). Enquiries that do not lead to further contact are deleted periodically.

‍ ‍

6. Where Your Data Is Stored

‍Contact form submissions are processed via Squarespace's form functionality and may be sent to my connected email inbox. Squarespace may store data on servers located outside the UK/EEA (including in the United States). Squarespace maintains its own data protection safeguards, including standard contractual clauses where applicable, for such transfers. You can review Squarespace's own privacy practices at their Privacy Policy.‍ ‍

As I work with clients worldwide, if you are located outside the UK, your data may be transferred to and processed in the UK, subject to appropriate safeguards.

‍ ‍

7. Your Rights‍ ‍

Under UK GDPR (and, where applicable, other data protection laws), you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data I hold about you

  • Request correction of inaccurate data

  • Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")

  • Object to or restrict processing

  • Request data portability

  • Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)

  • Lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, or your local data protection authority if you are based outside the UK

‍To exercise any of these rights, please contact me at hello@lazypixeldesign.com.

‍ ‍

8. Cookies ‍

This Site is built and hosted on Squarespace, which may use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality, security, and basic analytics. This Site does not use cookies for advertising or marketing purposes. For more details, please refer to Squarespace's Cookie Policy.

‍ ‍

9. Data Security‍ ‍

I take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal data submitted through this Site, including relying on Squarespace's built-in security infrastructure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.

‍ ‍

10. Third-Party Links

This Site may contain links to third-party websites (such as social media or portfolio platforms). I am not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites, and I encourage you to review their privacy policies separately.

‍ ‍

11. Children's Privacy‍ ‍

This Site is not intended for children under 16, and I do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

‍ ‍
